Good grades and bad decisions helped me to end up in the techie world like a regular middle-class Indian adolescent, which, in all honesty, doesn’t seem all that bad now. But when I found ample time and unlimited Wifi, I utilised it efficiently to pick out shabby but classic food joints around Kolkata to tickle my taste buds and others’ envy. The childhood love for yearly vacations in the meantime took a new turn, and my search space soon expanded to include more corners of the country where I would get to experience both.
On days where I am not avoiding protruded tree branches on the top of a truck, or spending my afternoon failing to recreate TASTY videos, I like to work towards a better grade, and plan when I can do the first two.
An avid consumer of movies that keep themselves away from the commercial market, the name of this blog came to my friend because of the popular series of Goopi Gyaan and Baagha Byaan, directed brilliantly by THE Satyajit Ray. After a bit of modification, and fuelled by the itch to crack bad puns, Meals’n’Boons was born. Not a believer in destiny or miracles, but if I were to ask for Boons, they would just be what the duo were gifted with – ability to make any food appear to satisfy the gluttony, ability to travel anymore, and ability to put anyone to sleep through songs. So for any probable Bhooter Raja or Sugar Daddy out there, here is your best chance!
